NASA Frontier Development Lab Application Deadline Extended to April 13

fdlThe application deadline for NASA Frontier Development Lab (FDL) has been extended to April 13.

FDL is an applied artificial intelligence research accelerator that will run June 25 – August 17, 2018. Space science researchers are paired with data scientists for a workshop to apply AI challenges important to space exploration.

Doctorate and post-doc researchers from the following challenge areas are encouraged to apply: 

  • Space weather
  • Astrobiology
  • Space resources 

FDL is hosted by the SETI Institute and NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. This year, FDL will also run an earth observation challenge in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), which will take place at ESA Esrin in Europe.

Compute and AI advisory is provided by IBM, Intel, Nvidia, Lockheed Martin and Google.

Researchers will receive a stipend and accommodation will be provided for the duration of the program.
